Palo Alto & other SDWAN networks can be high-availability and nodes can be pairs to provide for failover, SDWAN device discovery involves incrementing through the device ports for an IP address that allow SNMP communications, client would like to be able to specify IP (VIP) address port/interface to use for discovered SDWAN device, not have to manually edit 1,000+ devices.

It would mean SDWAN devices could be added with HA pair VIP, when failover occurs NMS will keep monitoring the active device.

Allow for more secure keys instead of Username/Password for any connection to an external API, such as used for SDWAN monitoring.

Any access to an API, especially one that can affect production network hardware, should be as secure and maintenance free as possible.
