There is double or triple spaces within Journal Line Description text field in the GL data. I would like a function to remove these multiple spaces in a row like the trim function does in excel. In TBM Studio the trim function only removes spaces at the beginning or end of the text.
I have found this issue in text like Journal Line Description and Vendor Name. I use these fields in lookups. The lookups do not work due to the double spaces.
In a work around, I have used a set of formulas to replace a double space with a single space. Recently, I have found text with multiple double spaces and triple spaces that my formulas don't fix.
Example Remove Double Space Formulas:
How I use the Journal Line Description in a lookup formula where this causes an issue
I understand the technical feature that you are looking for. From a use case perspective, do the extra spaces cause issues in applying other formulas or impacting calculations? Or do you want to remove extra spaces for aesthetic purposes only?
