Apptio Views manually managed. Provide the ability to link Views to roles or their Active Directory Groups.

We require Views to be linked to AD roles so that we can manage the cost data privileges that our users hold in the Apptio suite without having to do as we are currently, where for example a user will get a role 'user' or 'admin' and we have to execute an entirely manual process to assign those people to 'views' in the Apptio Cloudability tool which are not AD linked. This causes significant toil that we require Apptio to solve for .

Previously we have had a highly engineered solution where would need to manage this by interacting with Apptio APIs . This does not meet our requirements as it sits this activity and engineering overhead with us, the customer, rather than being a part of the product suite by default .

    Hi Ryan, As Rajesh mentioned, earlier in Q1 of this year we've launched the Beta for Entra ID group and Manual User Group feature and it is scheduled to go GA pretty soon.

    • Entra ID Group feature would allow you to credential your Microsoft Entra ID in Cloudability and you'll be able to sync (import) your Entra ID group to Cloudability using a filter criteria.

    • Manual User Group feature would allow you to create a group of users directly in Cloudability.

    You would be able to use both types of groups for View Assignments.
