Allow the Group Step to ignore blanks instead of turning them into {Various}

We receive a data file that for a single key the data is across multiple rows, see example picture attached.  (A similar common scenario is appended data with new columns that duplicates a key, however in this case we know the columns and can use a bunch of lookups instead.)  My current solution is to use an Unpivot followed by a Pivot to combine the data into a single row.  I've been told this isn't very performant, but I'm not aware of a better solution.  If the Group Step had the option to ignore blanks it would achieve the same thing I am doing with the Unpivot-Pivot.
