Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Workbench mapping additions

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Right now, the workbench mapping can somewhat be a exhausting and inefficient task

I'll do an example of a solution offering in the FLS case, that needs to be mapped to the consumers to give a better understanding of the issue:

We have a solution offering called "South America - Support", that is a support-service to all consumers in the region South America. In order to allocate this to the consumers, we need to individually add a row for each allocation to all consumers that belongs to South America. Similarly, there is also solution offerings for North America, Europa, etc.

If you could instead allocate a service to a "group of consumers", based on a key of your preference ("region" in this example), and then it is either equally split between each consumer that has the specific value or with a weighted split based on another key.

This allocation method would also be beneficial for the idea: "Technical Service layer does not fit the use case of the current clients", that I have also added.

This would ease the use of the workbench a lot and would create a lot more transparency to the business.

    This sounds very good.

Please let me know, if you want me to participate in any meetings to give input on what our experiences are from the implementations that we have done so far.

You are calling out a great idea, what additional, pre-defined "Consumer" allocation methods we should.

    1. We are already planning to support a more generic, "Weight by FTE/Headcount" which would be applied to all departments / business

    2. units for a selected service.

    3. For your specific example which is "region" based, we could create a predefined "Filter by Region, Weight by FTE/Headcount" as an allocation strategy.

    4. Apptio or Partner Administrator could create similar, custom strategy using TBM Studio to a similar "filter" and "weight by" scenario.

We are planning to address the generic "Weight by FTE/Headcount" in an upcoming release, we will evaluate and likely include a filtered view based on "Region" and perhaps other common dimensions that may make sense.
