In addition to the capability to compare the variance for Full Year (FY) between to forecast plans (actuals + forecast) in Variance Analysis. We still need improvements before we can migrate from our current approach (outside of Apptio) to using Variance Analysis/Drivers.
Ability to add custom columns and group by columns. For example, we have a custom column for Senior Leadership individuals in our Cost Center reference data. We need the ability to group by the Senior Leadership member, then by Cost Center. Also additional custom columns when needed.
See 'Drivers' at the column level instead of having to drill into another page. Ideally, see the "Driver" or reason why that specific line item increased or decreased. We do this today using a spreadsheet. We first export the variance comparison between the two plans from Apptio. Then in Excel/Google Sheet we add a 'Comment/Driver' on the variance change. See attached file as an example.
