Ability to open select lines on 'external financials' to make small edits (Admin Only)

We use the 'external financials' function heavily in our Planning environment, and we find it is very helpful in maintaining transparency and data quality control, as the lines cannot be edited by the user. We have ~87,000 lines of centrally agreed data that needs to be transformed in Apptio and extracted for load into Planning. The process can be long and complicated to land on a final number to load, and sometimes you find one small error that you would like to fix. However, since the lines are locked, you have to perform the entire process again, and delete and load the data. Is there a way for Admin to have the ability to unlock some lines to make edits? This would save lots of time for the TBM team in managing large sets for forecast data.

    Managing external line items is now much easier with full in-product editing capabilities-no more exporting, modifying offline, and reimporting.


    What's New

    • Edit or delete external lines directly in the UI from Expenses → New View, without using the export/import workflow.

    • Available to users with the ExternalLineEdit permission, included by default for Admins and Budget Process Owners.

    • Enable edit mode for a single external line or for all external lines at once for faster, more efficient updates.

    • Delete external lines individually or in bulk, removing the previous restriction that required deleting all lines at once.

    • Import External Line remains available for adding new external line items.
