Enable advanced monthly scheduling options (e.g., first Monday, second Wednesday) for Email Subscriptions in Apptio Cost Transparency, consistent with Apptio BI capabilities.

 

Currently, Email Subscriptions in Cost Transparency only allow monthly scheduling by fixed calendar dates (e.g., the 1st–31st of the month). This creates limitations for teams that operate on business calendars or need reports aligned to specific weekdays (e.g., first Monday or second Wednesday of each month).

In Apptio BI, email subscriptions already support more flexible scheduling (such as weekday-based recurrence patterns). Bringing this same functionality into Cost Transparency would improve consistency across the platform and better support real-world reporting needs.

This enhancement would allow users to:

  • Schedule reports based on relative weekday patterns (e.g., first Monday, last Friday)
  • Align report delivery with business cycles, review meetings, and leadership cadences
  • Avoid manual workarounds or rescheduling when fixed calendar dates fall on weekends or holidays

Overall, this would significantly improve usability, reduce manual effort, and ensure stakeholders receive reports at the most relevant times.
