Enable Pre-Provisioning of Cost Object Permissions Before First Apptio SSO Login

Currently, when onboarding new users to Apptio IT Planning, the access provisioning process is delayed due to dependency on the first successful SSO login through the Apptio Front Door.

Existing Process:

  1. User is added in the Nokia Identity Management System.
  2. Access syncs through Microsoft Azure to Apptio.
  3. Synchronization takes approximately 20 minutes.
  4. User must complete the first Front Door login.
  5. Only after the login, administrators can add the user to Cost Object Permissions.

Problem:
The dependency on the initial Front Door login increases onboarding time and creates unnecessary manual follow-up for administrators. Access provisioning cannot be completed end-to-end in a single workflow.

Requested Enhancement:
Enable administrators to:

  • Add users directly to Cost Object Permissions before the first Apptio Front Door login, or
  • Trigger/pre-create the user profile automatically once Azure synchronization is completed.
