Reports to be Accessed for NonCalculated Periods

End-users who do not have admin access should be able to access the reports even for closed time-periods otherwise the reports might not be helpful to them and each time an admin would have to intervene to keep changing the time-periods.

    One method to enable end users to see data from previous years is to close Periods 1 - 11 and keep Period 12 open (e.g., Jan - Nov are closed, Dec is open).  In this scenario, reports can be setup with metrics to look back at previous years (from the current period) or to navigate to the last month in previous periods.  

    Calculation performance improvements have been made and will continue to be made to better support multi-year reporting.  As an example, Precision Calc with Time Aware optimizations (currently beta) will limit the open periods that need to be calculated to only those impacted by a data upload or specific configuration change. 

    If you have a very large and complex cost model, you may want to request a model review with Apptio's Customer Engineering team to assess the calc performance impact and to provide other guidance and recommendations.
