Enable users to customize which tags and business dimensions are returned in Anomaly Detection API endpoint results to improve reporting relevance and usability.

The Anomaly Detection API currently returns a predefined set of tags and business dimensions with anomaly results. While helpful, users cannot customize which specific tags and BMs are included in the reports, and the information received in the anomaly alert isn't very useful in and of itself.

We request the ability to configure and select which tags and business dimensions are returned in the Anomaly Detection API endpoint results. This would allow users to:

  • Select specific tags relevant to their organization's reporting needs
  • Choose which business dimensions to include in anomaly reports
  • Reduce noise by excluding irrelevant tags/BMs
  • Improve the relevance and usability of anomaly detection data for downstream processes

This enhancement would provide organizations with the flexibility to align anomaly detection reporting with their specific tagging strategies and business dimension hierarchies, enabling more effective tracking, analysis, and response to unusual cloud spending patterns.

The anomaly reports are very challenging to action without some key fields. E.g. in Azure it is standard to use the Resource Group to group together cloud services within a subscription/account, and without this field it is extremely challenging to derive value from this feature.
