Introduce the ability to sort data by any monthly column in tables that display multiple months of the same metric as separate columns. Each monthly column header should include sorting controls (ascending/descending), similar to the functionality available when only a single month is displayed.

Key Requirements:

  • Sorting controls (e.g., up/down arrows) should be visible and active on all monthly columns in multi-month tables.
  • Clicking a sorting control should reorder the entire table based on the selected month’s data, either ascending or descending.
  • Sorting should not affect the visibility or order of other columns; only the row order should change.
  • The feature should be consistent with the existing sorting behavior for single-month tables to ensure a unified user experience.

Benefits:

  • Enhances data analysis by allowing users to quickly identify highest/lowest values for any month.
  • Improves consistency and usability across different report configurations.
  • Reduces manual effort required to analyze trends across multiple months.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Users can sort by any monthly column in a multi-month table.
  • Sorting works as expected and matches the behavior of single-month tables.
  • No performance degradation is observed when sorting large tables.

Summary:
Enabling sorting for monthly columns in multi-month tables will provide a more powerful and consistent reporting experience, empowering users to analyze their data more effectively.
