Optimisation Dashboard Savings reporting improvements

We would find the Optimisation Dashboard more useful if it reported savings consistently and in line with more standard business use cases. Without this, it is of limited usefulness to us and we would shy away from endorsing use amongst our users.

A single pane of glass view of total savings (rightsizing and commitments) would be good to add. This isn’t currently available.

  1. The way in which realised savings are reported differs depending on whether you are looking at rightsizing or commitments. Commitments are (I believe) cumulative in the selected period, whereas rightsizing savings are quantified as a 30 days saving value, reported only in the month in which the rightsizing action was taken.
  2. It would be much more useful for us (and I suspect others) if there were some more intuitive, and flexible ways of reporting the savings that were applicable to both rightsizing and commitments, as well as a consolidated view. This would allow Cloudability to genuinely be used as a source of savings reporting information. These would include the following:
    1. Cumulative Savings to date from initiation of action (rightsizing/commitment)
    2. Cumulative savings attributable to nominated financial years (cumulative savings in the FY that the action was taken i.e. when it wasn’t in the budget baseline)
    3. Cumulative Annualised savings allocated to the months in which actions are taken (giving a view of changing savings run rate)

Thanks for the suggestion! We are looking to improve Rightsizing reporting and usability this year and this will be something we will take into consideration.
