Configurable Data Import Scheduling per Vendor Credential

Currently, Cloudability does not provide visibility or control over the specific time of day when data is imported from connected Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).

Import schedules are managed internally by the platform with no user-facing configuration, resulting in unpredictable data availability and limited operational control.

When onboarding a new CSP or managing existing integrations, users have no way to know or configure when Cloudability performs its daily data ingestion. This lack of transparency creates challenges for FinOps teams that rely on timely data for daily reporting, anomaly detection, and cost governance workflows. Moreover, different organizations operate across different time zones and have distinct data-freshness requirements.

The IDEA is to introduce a configurable "Import Schedule" setting within the Vendor Credentials section, allowing users to:

  1. View the current/default import time for each connected CSP account.
  2. Set a preferred time of day (in their local time zone or UTC) at which Cloudability should perform the data import from that specific CSP.
  3. Optionally, define import frequency (e.g., once daily, twice daily) for use cases requiring higher data freshness.

The main expected benefits are the following:

  • Predictability: FinOps teams can align internal reporting and alerting pipelines with a known, deterministic data import schedule.
  • Operational flexibility: Organizations in different time zones can schedule imports during off-peak hours (e.g., midnight local time) to have fresh data available at the start of the business day.
  • Improved governance: Enables tighter SLAs on cost data availability, supporting real-time cost management maturity.
  • Transparency: Eliminates the current "black box" behavior of data ingestion timing.
