Fiscal Year Reporting

Our organisation’s fiscal year runs from April to March and is configured with a P4 start in the Fiscal Calendar Configuration. However, this setup is not reflected consistently when creating reporting widgets or dashboards, making fiscal‑year reporting unnecessarily difficult.

In Apptio BI, selecting a Date Range of “This Year” does not align to our fiscal year. There should be distinct options for “This Calendar Year” and “This Fiscal Year,” based on the configured fiscal period start. Even when using a Custom Date Range, it is not possible to select future dates (e.g. March 2027). As a result, our current workaround is to set reports from April to December and then manually update each report on 1 January to extend the end date to March. These fiscal‑year ranges should roll forward automatically to avoid manual intervention.

The same limitation exists in Report Studio and native reporting, where no Date Range option aligns with our fiscal year, nor can we select future dates that dynamically update.

For a cloud‑based financial reporting platform, support for fiscal‑year‑aligned reporting including fiscal quarters is essential. This functionality is critical for FinOps and finance teams who must report in accordance with organisational fiscal periods.

Please can we have additional Date Ranges aligned to Fiscal Calendars added to Cloudability reporting tools.
