Cloud Management and AIOps

This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

Increase the number of services supported for Sustainability metrics

Currently the Sustainability metrics is supporting 3 services from each of the vendors, AWS, Azure and GCP. There are other major services the customers feels need to be considered for the emission metrics.

AWS: Apart from EC2, EBS, and RDS, other AWS services that can significantly contribute to carbon emissions include Amazon S3 due to large scale object storage and replication, EKS and ECS for containerized workloads running continuously on compute infrastructure, Redshift for data warehousing and analytics, SageMaker and GPU based EC2 instances for AI and machine learning workloads, ElastiCache for memory intensive applications, and networking services such as CloudFront, Elastic Load Balancer, and NAT Gateway

Azure: In addition to Compute, Managed Disk, and Azure Database services such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL, services like Blob Storage can contribute meaningfully due to high storage volumes and redundancy, AKS for Kubernetes workloads, Synapse Analytics for large scale data processing, Azure Machine Learning and GPU enabled VMs for AI workloads, Azure Cache for Redis for in memory compute

GCP: Beyond GCE, Persistent Disk, and Cloud SQL, major contributors in GCP include Cloud Storage for object storage, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for container orchestration, BigQuery for compute intensive analytics, Vertex AI along with GPU and TPU workloads for machine learning
