Expose Usage Quantity Unit dimension in Apptio BI

We would like the Usage Quantity Unit field to be made available as a dimension in Apptio BI.

Currently, Apptio BI provides access to usage quantities and cost metrics, but the corresponding unit of measure is not available for reporting. This creates challenges when interpreting and analyzing usage data across different cloud services and providers.

Business Need

Usage quantities are meaningful only when accompanied by their unit of measure. For example:

  • 100 could represent GB
  • 100 could represent Hours
  • 100 could represent Requests

Without the Usage Quantity Unit dimension, users cannot accurately understand, compare, or contextualize usage metrics displayed in BI reports.
