We are using Insights to get notified if % change value is more than 10% over a period of time. To calculate % change over previous period, the logic used is:
% change = (Current period cost - Previous period cost ) / Previous period cost
The problem is when we have 0 or NA value in previous period and current period has relevant value. The calculation results in division by 0 which produces erroneous value.
Can these cases where the previous period is zero can be handled differently ?
Maybe we can show Infinity increase instead of erroneous value or any better representation?

Hi Aishbarya, thanks for sharing this! We understand the issue with division by 0 in % change calculations and agree it's important to handle these cases more gracefully. We don't have anything planned on our roadmap, but we will look into improvements and consider a few options, e.g., displaying "Infinity%", "New cost", or showing null when prior data is missing.
