Broadcom APM inetgration with Apptio Cloudability for Memory Utilization

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

We are currently using Apptio Cloudability for cloud cost optimization and visibility, and we rely on memory utilization data to generate accurate rightsizing recommendations. As part of this setup, Apptio typically requires CloudWatch Agents or Datadog Agents to collect memory metrics from EC2 instances.

However, in our environment, we already have Broadcom APM agents deployed across our infrastructure, and our server team has raised concerns about adding additional agents (like CloudWatch), citing performance impact, latency, and agent sprawl.

To address this constraint, we would like to formally request a feature enhancement for Apptio Cloudability to support integration with Broadcom APM, allowing it to ingest memory utilization metrics directly from Broadcom.

Key Benefits:

  • Prevents agent duplication and reduces operational overhead
  • Leverages existing observability investment (Broadcom APM)
  • Enables memory-based rightsizing recommendations in Cloudability without needing new agents
  • Aligns with enterprise agent governance and compliance policies

We believe this enhancement would benefit many organizations using Broadcom’s enterprise APM solution alongside Apptio.

Please let us know if this request can be considered for your product roadmap or if there are any current integration workarounds available.

Thank you for your consideration.
