It would be very valuable to have a feature in Cloudability that allows us to input a desired AWS Compute Savings Plans coverage percentage, and receive an estimate of the required hourly commitment to achieve that coverage.
Use case :
We must manually calculate how much additional commitment is needed to reach a certain target coverage level. This process can be time-consuming and error-prone, especially in dynamic envs with fluctuating usage.
Proposed feature:
Add an enhancement to the existing coverage reporting dashboard that allows users to:
- input a target coverage percentage
- select a timeframe to analyze (30 days, 60 days)
- select purchase method (all upfront, no upfront, etc)
- select master payer account
- receive an estimated hourly CSP commitment /h required to reach that coverage level based on historical usage
- view side-by-side comparison of current vs. proposed commitment and impact on potential savings
