Sorting by top n results broken down by month or day, should show top n results for each time period

Currently in Apptio BI, if you create a report with a single dimension and single cost metrics, you can sort the data by top results based on the metrics or dimension values. Once you select the "View by" field to any other than "none", you loose the ability to sort the results based on the metric values, you're only left with the dimension that you have chosen. For example if you want to see  the top 10 applications, you won't be able to sort them by the cost, but alphabetically by the application name. I am sure that there is more than zero use cases that could benefit from this approach, but there is plenty more use cases that could benefit from being able to see the data sorted by the cost metrics.

It would be great to have the ability to see the top 10 results broken down by the month and sorted by the cost metrics.
