Problem:
Right now there is no way to set a default selection for an Apptio BI report global filter. There are many cases where being able to choose a default selected value meets the use cases of the majority of the report users, but we still want to enable the option to include other selection options from that filter for edge cases.
Request:
Like can be done with the global date range selector for Apptio BI reports, have the ability for the owner to set a default selection for individual global filters. This default will be what is selected when the dashboard is initially loaded, but the global filter selections can then be adjusted as needed by the report viewer.
There also needs to be the ability to remove the configured default from the global filter in case that configuration is no longer required or the default was set in error.
Example:
Most of our users only need to see Transaction Type = Usage costs from Cloudability data sets. However a small set of users also need Tax, Credits, one-time and recurring charges data. We want a single report to serve both user types. It would be great if we could set a default value for the Transaction Type global filter such that when initially loaded only Transaction Type = Usage is selected. However, for those user that need to include those other transaction types, they can then go and adjust the global filter selections as needed.
