Problem:
As part of a recent release the Environment Name menu was made visible to user when accessing Apptio BI reports via the Cloudability Standard tile. In addition a new option "Visualization Default" was added for all users.
This "Visualization Default" is causing confusion for our reader users (the majority of our user base). They only have access to view Production and if a widget is configured to point to Staging, they get a loading error. Prior to this release they were pointed to Production by default.
We only ever want these users to see Production data. Having multiple options in the Environment Name to choose from when there is only one that is relevant to them is causing confusion and not adding value to their user experience. If an admin inadvertently leaves an individual widget set to staging after doing validation work on a change in the underlying TBM Studio data model, this can also lead to loading errors for our reader users who only have access to see Production.
Request:
Similar to how Production and Staging have dedicated role permissions allowing us to configure our custom roles to be able to access those environments, add a permission that allows the ability to restrict access to seeing the "Visualization Default" environment name option. Or alternatively, have the ability to hide/turn off this option for all users.
