Databricks Catalog & Schema shoudl be configurable.

Customer requests that the catalog and schema should be configurable, since it’s more of a semantic / logical model rather than anything that should really be significant on your end.

On our end, we have already changed the table to a view and it seems to work just fine, which removes the waste of running a pipeline for a once every 12 hour thing which is effectively a drop and recreate.

Customer believes the view is a good enough solution (if catalog and schema are configurable), but just noting to your team that access to system tables doesn’t actually require admin (but admins by default do get access). It’s just like any other securable in Unity Catalog. You can assign SELECT to the principal at the  catalog, schema, or even table level.
