Improve Cloudability Usage Reporting

We are now starting to receive a monthly file that contains Dashboard and Report views from Cloudability.  However, the files are missing important data that would make them much more useful.

Dashboard file:

The Dashboard file contains the date/time, path, dashboard id and a user id.   Information requested:

  • Definition of a Dashboard view. What is considered a view?  Is updating a dashboard and clicking Run considered a view?  Is saving changes to a dashboard considered a view?  Is it safe to assume that each row in the file represents a "view"?
  • The dashboard name and possibly owner name.  Using the APIs, I am going able to pull the name of a dashboard if I have visibility to it in Cldy.  So the dashboard name field is barely populated.  Just having the dashboard id does not give us any insight into what the end users are using.
  • The user name.  Currently I am using an API to get the username for each user id, however each month there are a handful of user ids in the dashboard file, that I do not see in the API to get the user name.  And without having the username, we are unable to determine who is viewing the dashboards.

Report file:

The Report file contains the date/time, path, reportid and a user id.   Information requested:

If there are other ways for me to get this extra data using the APIs, please let me know.
