Use Selected Time Period to Populate AutoFill Lists in Filter on a report or dashboard

My understanding is that the last two months of data are used to populate the autofill values on the filter dimensions.  For example, if I select Jan - Jun 2025 in the date selection and then add Month (Year) as a filter, the autofill options are  2025-10 and 2025-09.  It would be helpful for the auto populate list to be pulled from the selected date selection, in the example above Jan - Jun 2025.  That way the list of autofil selections will actually be in the data.  It is not always obvious to users that they can manually type in a value if they don't see what they need in the autofill.
