Period Filter Enhancement in Cloudability Widgets Merged

Why is it useful?
Currently, when creating a widget and enabling period comparison in Cloudability, selecting “Last Month”, then enabling the comparison key and selecting “Previous Period”, the platform uses the preceding 30 days, rather than the complete calendar month. This can result in an incomplete or inconsistent dataset for months with 31 days, leading to skewed comparisons. See the attached screenshot.
Adding an option to select “Previous Month” as a full calendar month ensures accurate month-to-month reporting and maintains alignment with standard financial and operational reporting practices.

    •    Enterprise customers who rely on Cloudability for detailed monthly cost analysis, especially for cloud cost optimization and budget tracking.
    •    Finance and FinOps teams that require precise month-over-month comparisons matching billing cycles and fiscal periods.

How should it work?
    •    When creating or editing a widget, the date filter options should include “Previous Calendar Month” in addition to “Previous Period.”
    •    Selecting “Previous Calendar Month” should retrieve exactly the first day through the last day of the prior month (e.g., September 1 through September 30 or 31, as applicable).
    •    When comparing periods, “Last Month” and “Previous Calendar Month” should align to complete months rather than fixed day counts, allowing for precise month-over-month computation.
