Delta value calculation

We have an issue in TE for which we may need product enhancement.

In TE current TNPM, there are the following 2 metric

  1. Delta Throughput (in %) – (Current throughput – previous throughput ) / previous throughput * 100

  2. Delta Throughput (in bps) – (Current throughput – previous throughput)

Throughput itself is (current octet – previous octet) / interval period

Therefore to get previous throughput, it will be (previous octet – previous previous octet) / interval period

In TNPM, this is done using CME formula.

In TNCP, we only can get previous octet, but not previous previous octet.

We discussed with Ravi and Ravi suggested 2 approach

  1. Rework the formula so that somehow it can work

  2. Change in product code

We brainstormed between Raihan, Santhosh and myself to rework the code, but no luck so far.

Which brings to change in product code, hence this email.

The feature is required in both SNMP and file based
