On demand filters for monitoring data

We're using the Instana API to keep our configuration identical across multiple Instana backends that exist for our different production environemnts.

To simplify our process and improve useability of the tooling, we'd be interested in the possibility of on-demand filtering of data in
- Application perspectives
- Custom Dashboards

It'd be very helpful to configure an Application perspective once and apply a tag as filter or parameter to just show a subset of the data (in our case the subset of a given environment). Same applies for Dashboards.

In addition it'd be helpful to have some kind of templated custom events and Smart Alerts that can be applied to different sets of data.

The same applies for custom events and smart alerts. Configuring the conditions once and applying them to multiple subsets of data (again our environment) would simplify our setup and effort to maintain Instana monitoring configuration.

It'd also make managing these configurations much more intuitive for colleagues who are new or seldomly use the tool.

    Dear Customer,


    We thank you so much for submitting an idea and, in doing this, we appreciate your support in improving Instana product.

    Unfortunately this requirement is not currently in our roadmap and will not be for the next 12/18 months.

    If this feature is still a priority for your Instana implementation at that time, please reopen it to bring up to our attention and we will reevaluate for its inclusion.
