About hiding the Managemet menu

For pods in production and disaster environments, there is a function that allows you to restart and reboot from the Management menu displayed on the pod screen of Instana.

Since it is an environment that anyone can touch, the target was accidentally rebooted, which became an obstacle.

I would like to see the Management menu be narrowed down by permission, or the ability to show and hide menus is added.

    Dear Customer,


    We thank you so much for submitting an idea and, in doing this, we appreciate your support in improving Instana product.

    Unfortunately this requirement is not currently in our roadmap and will not be for the next 12/18 months.

    If this feature is still a priority for your Instana implementation at that time, please reopen it to bring up to our attention and we will reevaluate for its inclusion.


    Host Agent permissions are available for:

    • "Agent download and agent key visibility" -> host agent install dialog & agent key

    • "Configuration of host agents" -> access the host agent management dashboard

    • "Configuration of agent mode" -> change agent mode on the management dashboard


    All other actions are available if permission "Configuration of host agents" is granted.

    Thanks for bringing this Idea to our attention!

    Restarting workloads it's indeed a functionality which should require specific privileges.

    In order to make sure we are targeting the correct call to action, please, share with us a screenshot of the mentioned restart and reboot button.
