Support Helm as installation Method for instana operator

We are using the instana-operator to setup and maintain instana. For all of our other components we are using Flux to sync our Git Repository to our Cluster. For most of our Components we are using helm to install them to our cluster.

Instana curently only supports the installation with the instana plugin. You can create manifest files using kubectl instana operator template but if you are using them for different environments you have to do this all the time and also track the changes between every release which is time consuming.

It would be great to have an IBM maintained Helm Chart with an release for every instana release which i can simply install and configure using well known tools like helm. Which are better integrated in other third Party Tools than a custom plugin.

Hello @Jayanth Putta, I haven't raised the FR but I think this is about instana backend not agent

Hi Florian, nice to e-meet you! I'm Jayanth, the PM for Kubernetes at Instana.

Are you referring to the Helm method of installation for the agent as seen in the attached screenshot?

I think also the additional Steps in the Documenation like creating Unit/Core and the corresponding secrets could be simplified by using an Helm Chart
