Monitoring Forked Processes in PHP

Description:

We would like to propose the addition of functionality to monitor forked processes in PHP. Currently, there are monitoring tools available for PHP, but there is a lack of capability to monitor specifically forked processes. This is particularly crucial for applications that utilize forked processes for parallel processing or task management. We suggest extending the existing monitoring mechanisms in PHP to include monitoring of these processes.

Business Impact:

The provision of forked process monitoring capability directly impacts purchasing decisions of our clients. The absence of this functionality may limit clients' ability to effectively manage and optimize PHP applications, leading to performance and resource loss. Improving the monitoring of these processes will enhance the efficiency of PHP application management and contribute to increased client satisfaction.

Technical Details:

  • Extend current monitoring tools in PHP to include forked processes.
  • Implement data collection mechanisms and metrics for forked processes, such as resource usage, execution time, and others.
  • Ensure compatibility with various PHP environments and popular monitoring tools.
