Correlation Between AWS RDS and AWS Lambda Native Tracing

We propose an enhancement in Instana to improve the correlation between AWS RDS databases and services detected by AWS Lambda Native Tracing. Currently, we experience a lack of visibility and correlation between these components, which impacts our ability to monitor and trace infrastructure effectively.

Benefits

  • Improved Traceability: Enhanced correlation would provide clearer insights into interactions between AWS Lambda functions and RDS databases, improving traceability and troubleshooting.

  • Better Monitoring: By connecting RDS infrastructure to AWS Lambda services, teams can better monitor performance and detect issues more efficiently.

  • Enhanced Operational Efficiency: Improved visibility into service dependencies will allow for more proactive management and optimization of resources.
