Workspace Instana
Created by Guest
Created on Aug 22, 2024

Enable recording access logs for each Instana tenants with different tenant and unit names.

[Background]
The customer has created separate tenants for the production and development environments.
According to the Case, when there are two Instana tenants(Tenant#1,Tenant#2) with different a tenant name and a unit name, and when users logged in Tenant#2 while logged in Tenant#1, access logs in Tenant#1 are recorded, but access logs in Tenant#2 are NOT recorded.

[Issues]
With this specification, for users who have several Instana accounts with the same e-mail, their first access logs to Tenant#1 are recorded. However, when they logged in the second or later tenants(Tenant#2,3,4...), access logs are NOT recorded.

This becomes problematic when auditing access logs in the second or later tenants(Tenant#2,3,4...), because users logged in these tenants but access logs in these tenants are NOT recorded.

[Request]
Enable recording access logs for each Instana tenants with different tenant and unit names when users have several Instana accounts with the same e-mail.

the new “ACCESS” type audit entry is created when the user’s session is extended with an additional tenant that the session is valid for, meaning the existing "LOGIN" entry will be visible on the tenant where the user logs in at the satrt of the session.
Once a tenant is added to the session as accessible, the "ACCESS" entry is not generated on consequent tenant switching until the session expires.

New "ACCESS" type entry has been introduced in release 282 for the case where the "LOGIN" access already happens on a different tenant.
