Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

With Infra Smart Alerts provide a way to prevent auto closure

Problem/use-case:

We have a subset of alerts that are triggered based on problems that happen in an instant (1-shot) where the events are in good right away. Such Issues are for example triggered by a metric which only shows a short spike. Consequently, the Issue/Incident in Instana is closed right away. Furthermore, the OPEN alerts are followed by a CLOSE alert in a short period of time.

However, the CLOSE notification that the situation is Okay is not correct here. And the instance might be still down, or in a problematic state which requires manual intervention. And therefore, we would like to enforce that these events are being manually reviewed (and closed). And the CLOSE notifications might prevent this from happening since that generates a "closed" email notification to our Network Operation Center which then will not call the oncall department contact.
