Idle Timeout should also consider user inactivity - not only when instana browser is hidden

At the moment the "Idle session timeout" you can set in Instana Authentication Settings only triggers when the Browser showing Instana UI is hidden (minimized to task bar).

But it does NOT trigger when browser is left wide open but there is no User activity - which is main reason you would want such a functionality.

This is a security issue, as this exposes potential sensitive data unintended if browser is not minimized.


Change needed:

  • Idle session timeout needs to force re-login when there is X min no User Interaction with UI happening - regardless if browser is minimized or not.
