Within the Action Catalog for executing automations, the target server can be selected if the Automation is run manually by a person. The person sees a list of available Agents and selects one. But, when executing the Actions in an automated way via the Instana Events, there is no way to select a specific Agent to execute the automation.
There are cases such as synthetic monitoring where there isn't an Agent where the problem is occurring. But, the customer may have scripts and tools installed on a specific machine that they want to run. In addition, there are some cases where an Event triggers against something where this isn't an Agent. For example, if you write a threshold against a synthetic test, there is no Agent involved. So, you can't run an automated Action when the event triggers. This is the customer's primary use case.
