Instana Dashboard Dark Mode Merged

Our client has requested the addition of a dark mode feature to the Instana dashboard to improve usability and align with their needs. This feature would enhance accessibility for users with light sensitivity. It also reflects industry standards, as competitors already offer dark mode, and aligns with the client’s workflow practices prior to adopting Instana.

    I spoke to Corey Keller and Brad Eller [Carbon team] yesterday regarding use of Dark mode within Instana.

    • All the product areas are undergoing a large migration to use Carbon styled components so switching to dark mode wouldn't be possible until this work was complete, if were to be prioritized.

    • Integration with other IBM products are currently being explored so the UI needs a consistent look and feel with other products, so this might have impact on use of dark mode.


    Please note that the use of dark mode is not being ruled out, its just not planned for this current year.
