loading the base-domain URL should forward the user to the tenant-unit.baseDomain URL for login

We learned from working on the Case "TS019337924 Different login experience", that the following behaviour is the status-quo for k3s selfhosted Instana (3.291.396-0):

The URL https://basedomain.de (login fails in your env) is valid just after a fresh Instana Installation. As soon you configure an Identity Provider such LDAP the URL https://sdst-eakte.basedomain.de (login successfull in your env) must be used. The other will not work anymore.

How it is currently implemented: the customer gets a login screen presented when calling https://basedomain.de where he can enter a username and passwort but cannot login.

With this Idea, i would like to request that a user that calls https://basedomain.de in his browser is automagically forwarded to the https://tenant-unit.basedomain.de URL where he can login using his username and password for the configured LDAP provider.

When this idea is realised, Instana would behave like it is described in the documentation at the moment: "Note: If you access any page other than the login page on a tenant unit, you are redirected to the tenant login page." https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/1.0.299?topic=configuration-configuring-ldap#accessing-instana-ui

    Thanks for the idea.

    This has been implemented. You can now login via the base domain using LDAP/SAML/OIDC and be automatically forwarded to your single tenant unit.
