Instana to monitor Windows services for all the Start types like Automatic and Manual

To further enhance Windows host monitoring, we request an enhancement to the IBM Instana Windows monitoring to support detailed Windows service monitoring with the following features:

1.       Ability to monitor all Microsoft Windows services for their current running status and start types including Automatic, Manual, and Disabled. For any monitored service that is stopped or not running contrary to its start type, Instana should trigger an alert or event indicating potential service disruption.

2.       Support for a user-configurable exclusion list of Windows services that should not be monitored. This allows users to tailor monitoring based on their operational requirements and avoid alerts from irrelevant or intentionally stopped services.

This basic feature is widely used in enterprise environments to ensure critical Windows services remain operational and to detect unexpected service stoppages quickly. Many other customers would benefit from such enhanced visibility and control, helping reduce downtime and improve IT operations effectiveness.
