Currently, Instana agents need to add the username and password, databases, and ports to the YAML configuration file. We request that, in this case, it should be possible to add only the instance and port to the configuration file, and that the agent run with a DB2 user with restricted permissions to query DB2 statistics. Then, when running with `sudo`, the user can access DB2 environment variables to discover and query information without exposing the key and without investing in additional tools for a single database. Additionally, clients use other products to encrypt keys besides HachiCorp, which limits functionality. In previous versions, such as Tivoli, ICAM, and APM8, keys were stored directly.
