Automatic agent startup on AIX after server restart

When a server restarts, the agent does not start automatically up and observability could be lost. Although this can be done manually, there would be a margin for error.

    Hi @Guest ,


    for AIX we provide an rpm package for Instana Agent. This is not yet in the public docs, the docs update is pending.

    The rpm package will install the agent and also enable the agent as a service for automatic restarts.

    I will report back here, once the documentation is up to date.

    This is the command to install on AIX:

    export INSTANA_AGENT_HOST=<backend-host> \
      INSTANA_AGENT_PORT=443 \
      INSTANA_AGENT_KEY=<agent-key> \
      INSTANA_AGENT_AUTOSTART=true

    rpm --install instana-agent-static-j9-aix-20250625-1428.ppc.rpm
