Control Plain of Instana agents is required in Air-Gap environment.

The customer is considering expanding the usage of Instana SaaS.

One thing that the customer is worrying about is to manage the update of Instana agents in restricted internet-access environment.

Now, Instana agents are running as static mode and when the customer applies more agents to apps, it's a burden to manage Instana agents in the environment.

So, it's required for Instana agent as static mode to manage centrally for installing and updating like "Control Plain".

The customer is using "Squid Proxy" residing DMZ(between private and public) to send collected data to Instana SaaS backend.

If "Control Plain" is installed in the server of Squid Proxy, it's a great way for customers to manage Instana agents as static mode.

Customer can select specific Node to install or update Instana agent via GUI after reviewing specific version of Instana agent and downloading it.
