Hi Kathy, please raise a ticket with IBM Instana support.
I will close this idea for the time being for the following reasons:
the change from UI is temporary and falls back to INFO after 10 mins
the agent logs are limited to 5MB per log file and 10 log files max. A default agent install will not exceed 50MB of log data.
Feel free to re-open this idea or a new idea if you think this is not sufficient.

the 10 minute period to fall back to INFO is a feature we have since the beginning of Instana :-)
If this did not happen, the situation is in fact a bug and we can look into it in the scope of a support ticket.
Did this happen more than once, or is it even reproducible?

We had issues in the past the the log level did not go back to info after 10 minutes and caused logs on the system that filled the hard drive. And wanted to know who had set the debug. Can you tell me when this feature was added?

thanks for posting the idea.
If the agent log level is changed to DBEUG from the UI in Agent Management Dashboard, it will stay at this level only for 10 minutes and falls back to INFO after this.
What is the reason you want to see who changed the log level?
