Allow Instana agent sending metrics to both Instana backend and our streaming layer, e.g. Kafka

We propose that the Instana agent should be capable of transmitting metrics not only to the Instana backend but also to our streaming layer, specifically Kafka. This dual transmission capability will enhance our data processing and analytics capabilities by allowing real-time data flow into our streaming infrastructure.

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and has decided that it does not fit into our current plans, so the request for enhancement record will be closed. The request will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. It might be reassessed or reopened for additional feedback in the future. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in developing our products.


    We discussed a solution for ACE, sending telemetry with OpenTelemetry into a 2nd data sink. Instana agent will not be able to send out the data into a 3rd party backend.
