stanctl upwithout performing an update, but there are some conditions:When you run
stanctl up, we check if an upgrade is required. You can choose to skip the update if everything is compatible. If you update your
stanctlCLI and the backend version is not compatible with this new CLI version, then an update of the backend is required. If you do not change your
stanctlversion, you can skip the backend update. In short:

stanctl upwithout updating the backend.New CLI version: If it’s compatible, you can skip the backend update; if not, the update is mandatory.
