Time-based activation of Events / Alerts (e.g. active only 07:00–20:00)

Currently, it is not possible to define time-based activation directly on Events (e.g. Smart Alerts or Custom Events), such as limiting them to business hours from 07:00 to 20:00.

For many use cases—such as business services, non-critical systems, or batch-related monitoring—it would be highly beneficial to enable or disable events based on defined time windows at the event level.

Problem / Pain Point

Events are still generated outside relevant time windows

Increased configuration complexity due to:

  • Maintenance Windows

  • Multiple Notification Policies

  • Reduced signal-to-noise ratio in the event stream

  • Time-based logic can currently only be implemented indirectly

Requested Capability

  • Provide a way to configure time windows directly in the Event or Alert definition, for example:

  • Active between 07:00–20:00

  • Optional weekday selection (e.g. Monday–Friday)

Time zone aware

Applicable to:

  1. Smart Alerts

  2. Custom Events

Business Value / Benefits

  1. Cleaner and more meaningful event streams

  2. Reduced alert noise without additional routing logic

  3. Simpler configuration for business-hour–driven monitoring

  4. Better alignment with real operational and support hours
