Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share this request with IBM.
We understand that your GeneXus-based application is using Ron’s Http-Client internally for outbound HTTP calls, and that this currently prevents Instana from creating outbound HTTP spans and maintaining distributed trace correlation between the Canales services and the Bantotal services.
This appears to be a valid observability gap for this specific runtime path, especially because it impacts tracing across an important banking integration flow. We appreciate the reproducer and the additional technical details shared with Instana Support, as they helped confirm where the trace break occurs.
At this time, support for Ron’s Http-Client / GeneXus HTTP client instrumentation is not part of the roadmap currently under development and is not planned for an upcoming release. However, we recognize that this may be a real issue for GeneXus-based banking applications, and we are tagging the request for future consideration.
We will continue to monitor customer demand and community feedback for this capability, including additional customer requests, voting activity, and related GeneXus/Bantotal use cases. Based on that feedback, IBM may re-evaluate this request in the future and may reach out to discuss additional details if needed.
We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, recommendations, and ideas.
If you have any additional feedback or thoughts, please feel free to reply to this message to continue the conversation.
