Standard Edition preflight check must report all known prereq issues

Currently, when the preflight check is executed, it only reports a subset of the problems.

For example, I ran the preflight check on a brand new machine Red Hat with nothing setup. This is what got reported.

⚠️  the host for installation type demo must have at least 16 CPUs (actual number: 4)
⚠️  the host for installation type demo must have at least 64 GB RAM (actual value: 7 GB)
🔧 [FIXABLE] directory does not exist [type=objects, path=/mnt/instana/stanctl/objects]
🔧 [FIXABLE] directory does not exist [type=metrics, path=/mnt/instana/stanctl/metrics]
🔧 [FIXABLE] directory does not exist [type=analytics, path=/mnt/instana/stanctl/analytics]
🔧 [FIXABLE] directory does not exist [type=data, path=/mnt/instana/stanctl/data]

But, there are definitely other prereqs that are not met on this server.

  • kernel tuning has not been executed
  • Ulimits have not been setup

It is MUCH easier for a customer if we report all of the known issues.  Then, they can ask their Linux admin to fix all of the problems at once.   Today, customers see a list of problems.  They fix the problems and then encounter additional problems.  This can be very time consuming.  Particuarly, when the people installing Instana are not the Linux admins.  They must open a ticket for a separate team to do the work.  So, we need to report all issues that need to be resolved.
