Request for Local User Registration (A feature to add users without requiring an SMTP server)

When adding (inviting) a local user to Instana, an SMTP server is required.

In an air-gapped environment, there may be cases where the Self-Hosted Instana Backend does not have an SMTP server or cannot communicate with one.
I would like to propose implementing Instana’s local user registration feature without sending emails. (In other words, it does not require an SMTP server.)

This would be possible when using LDAP in an air-gapped self-hosted installation.
Otherwise we would need some means to allow password resets and some manner of verification of the user identity (like accepting an invite email, proving they have access to said inbox)

Please let me know if this has already been considered and not feasible. In which case, please provide some acceptable alternative which we can discuss with our self-hosted team.
